I know exactly what you’re talking about. I recently set up a Vista PC and the Wireless-LAN was a pain. It was basically a lot of dialogs and “wizzards” that Microsoft could easily have put together into one control panel called Wireless-LAN with one text field for SSID and one for WEP/WPA key. No, they couldn’t, and I have absolutely no idea why.

I’m not a newbie when it comes to computers, but as you said. This Vista thing made me feel stupid. And I have never felt stupid when using a computer before. Not even when going thru the “advanced mode” in the Debian installation.

It was hard to connect to a Wireless-LAN in XP, but it’s much more easy compared to Vista.

But I guess some people would rather live in the dark ages.
